So here come the holidays and...

So here come the holiday and..For some of us the holidays aren’t all merry and bright. Some people have themselves in the position where they alone , away from family , friends and all that they know . Maybe it’s due to work travel, recent life changes, military obligations or just a case of life handing them a shit sandwhich. Whatever the case may be , the holidays can be very hard for some.

I was just on Facebook and every oher post is about ” preparing for the family or traveling to see so and so.” That can be such a heartbreaker if you won’t be doing any of those things this holiday season. Please keep in mind that you are NOT alone. I’d like to share some tips with anyone who is reading this. I wont have my kids this year ( they will be with their fathers ) so I found myself in a pre holiday rut just like some of you might have. I finally made plans but with Christmas right around the corner I will keep all of these tips in my back pocket.

1) Reconnect with someone who is in the same boat as you ! There are so many groups online you can join where you can meet people with the same lifestyle, interests and thoughts as you ! Try to find one and go hang with them 🙂

2) Pamper yourself ! I’m talking go allllll out. Many businesses are actually open on days you might think they are closed during the holidays. Make it a spa day, hair, nails , and maybe even a little shopping. There are many deals going on during this time as well so it may not be as expensive as you might think.

3) Make a new tradition! The holidays don’t necessarily have to be about food and family. While many people make it about these things, eating a ton of turkey with Aunt Mable maybe  isn’t YOUR thing so make a day out of whatever ” your thing ” is. I’m thinking pizza and a Twilight binge along side my cats and dog would be my choice LOL

4) Give back ❤️️ Spend time serving at a food pantry , elderly folks home or homeless shelter and make your pretty little heart have all the feels. A day spent serving alongside strangers to strangers surprisingly feels amazing!

I hope this touches someone this holiday season ❤️️

Xoxo
