Confession time ….I actually don’t REALLY consider myself a stay at Mom because I work pretty much 8-10 hours everyday BUT I technically am a stay at home mom LOL. I’ve been asked a gazillion times what I do all day now that I’m “ retired “ and how I make money as a stay at home mom.

After retiring early from my 6 figure job 17 months ago I have been able to begin to create a life for myself as a small business owner. I’ve been able to build my business around our life with 6 kids , our crazy puppy and chickens.
Right now I’m working on something that can help build up your own business around your lifestyle. Maybe you have a dream side hustle you would like to get started on , maybe you are stuck in a job that you absolutely hate and are looking to get out. Maybe you’re retired and are bored out of your mind and want to find a way to still be RETIRED but also make a little extra on the side . If you want to be added to my email list for when the full guide drops click“>here “> .
Ok enough side talk ! Let’s get to the details. Here is where we talk about how I make moolah as a stay at home mom.
In addition to being a licensed mortgage loan originator (rates are on fire right now BTW call me if you want to refi or buy), investing in real estate in various ways and doing trades on stocks from my phone , here are some ways I make money.
Sell planners for Money
It all started when I went to a sellers meet up and was introduced to creating planners. For instance, I have 43 to date and often also write under a pen name! Similarly, through creating planners I started to sell meal guides and cookbooks!
I started a Facebook live show called Serve it up Sunday and it’s been a highlight of my blogging fun! Although my husband likes to call it “ Burn it up Sunday.” Almost weekly I manage to whip up some super tasty meals . As a result, you can check the replay videos out here on my YouTube channel.
Run a Blog to Make Money
Well actually I run 5 websites in total, however, starting with one is your best bet! If you’re nervous and feel like you will never get started because you don’t know what to do, I can tell you JUST DO IT! First, head over to to buy a domain name ( think of the name of your blog and look it up on there ). Next buy hosting and get to it . If this seems like gibberish to you think about this. The domain is a house and the hosting is the land where the house ” lives “. Similarly, there are various classes and tutorials you can watch to get up and running but we can cover that on a later date if you need help 🙂
EBAY is a Great Way to Make Money
Ebay in the past 3 years we have made it to the 5 digit club with EBay sales. It is so incredible that you can work from your phone and use thrift store flipping apps such as this one to find some real GOLD ( if you search for it). If you don’t have a clue as to what to sell on there DM me and I’ll give you some ideas ! This gem is one of my top ways to make money as a stay at home mom. Let me tell ya why!
First, I’d like to mention my very first sale on Ebay 13 years ago was a $3,000 watch! I had NO IDEA what I was doing but I listed, sold and shipped it within a week without coincidence. If I can ever get a moment to breathe I’ll be coming out with a workbook on this one day. However, for today just ask and I’ll give you the deets. Second, easy way to get started with ebay is by reselling thrift store flips. Last, surprisingly there are so many people who are able to work from home with Ebay! Here is one of my favorite Youtubers talking all about thrift store flipping books.
With Fetch Rewards you can turn your grocery receipts into gift cards with Fetch Rewards. Just click this link and you’ll get $2 in points when you snap your first receipt. Similarly, you’ll find there are various cash back apps and sites you can use. Above all, I’ve had the most luck with Fetch. However, there are so many options to choose from and the money doesn’t just turn into credits to just waste away like so many other apps. Likewise, the printer that is in our main offices my first purchase from my fetch rewards “dollars” from a Visa gift card.
Have you heard of this amazing thrift store flipping app? Make sure to use my code marylandmq for a $10 credit 🙂
We hit the 5 digit club on Poshmark fairly easy by selling used clothes ! Similarly, I had a TON of stuff that doesn’t fit anymore after having Baker. In addition, it’s pretty simple to just list, photography and ship. Likewise, the older kids can even take pictures for me if they want to! I usually buy clothes in bulk.
As a result of the warmer weather coming up, I’ll be hitting weekly yard sales. Above all, I am hoping to find some hidden treasures during my yard sale adventures.
Are any of these are right up your alley? Do you already do some of the above hustles? Have you started to make money as a stay at home mom? I’d love to hear about your journey!
