Honey is a perfect ingredient for many recipes, but it can also be used in unexpected ways. One of our favorite honey-based sauces to use on meats and vegetables is this hot honey sauce. This versatile dish pairs well with just about anything you choose to put it on top of or serve alongside because the heat from the hotter sauce balances out the sweetness from the honey. The best part? It’s really easy to make! Get all your ingredients together so that dinner tonight will come together quickly without too much fussing around in the kitchen. You’ll have time left over for dessert after this delicious meal 😉
I originally made this scrumptious sauce one night when we had chicken and waffles and now my family can’t get enough. If you’ve ever eaten at a barbecue restaurant, then you’ve probably tasted hot honey sauce. This delicious condiment is tart, sweet, and spicy all at the same time, and it pairs perfectly with pork or chicken. While many restaurants use premade sauces, it’s easy to make your own hot honey sauce at home. In just a few simple steps, you can have this tasty sauce ready to serve. Keep reading for the recipe!
We always have a jar of this hot honey sauce sitting in our fridge, and we’re not sure why because it’s so easy to make. The recipe only takes a few minutes from start-to finish! You can use whatever vegetables you prefer such as mushrooms or carrots for added nutrition; just be mindful that they will give off more juice than other options if not cooked before adding them into your dish (plus there is no need!).

Ways to use this savory sauce
We love to dip our fries in hot honey sauce and the older kids love to dip chicken nuggets occasionally. This yummy condiment can also be used on meats and vegetables. We even put some between two pieces of bread together like bacon wrapped cheeseburgers. Honey is a perfect ingredient for many recipes, but it can also be used in unexpected ways.
We not only use this dipping sauce on chicken wings but also to dip fries and drizzle on turkey wraps. The list is pretty simple and you can control the kick of heat to your liking.

- Chinese recipes
- Drizzle on top of golden brown pork chops
- Cover chicken thighs with this sticky glaze and place in the air fryer for a quick meal.
- Place crispy tofu or cooked chicken pieces in a sealed container and shake until each piece is well coated. Remember that a little goes a long way.
- Try a mango or strawberry frozen drink with this drizzled in layers. I know it sounds crazy but it’s delicious.
