Is it just me or does your bathroom smell “funky” from time to time? There are several reasons why this happens (besides the little people ) and I have come up with a few easy bathroom smell hacks that get rid of that problem for the most part. Before we dive into those reasons make sure you check out the most common root of the smell source HERE.
As some of you may know we raise chickens what you mean I know he said chickens have to stay a certain temperature until they are fully feathered. The easiest way for us to keep them this temperature is to raise them as chicks in the house. We keep the baby chicks in the kids first level bathroom until it’s time to put them in Cluckingham Palace. While that seems fun as you can imagine it is a huge mess.

Ok…”So what do I do about it?? Here are some easy bathroom smell hacks to help
1)Find and capture the enemy! That’s right, find the source and GET RID of it! Dirty diaper, urine on the floor, week old towels on the floor….you get the point.
I know all of that seems very *easy* but sometimes if you look hard enough you will find something you weren’t looking for.
2) Develop a daily , weekly and monthly cleaning plan for the bathroom. I know this seems daunting but a few steps everyday can make a huge difference. If you can tackle a few things each day then weekly and monthly the job is small!

Time to get down to some quick bathroom smell hacks. You don’t have to do these everyday so that a huge time saving thing right there. First, no matter the temperature, open the windows while do a quick spray down of the entire bathroom with a cleaner. I prefer either Dawn power wash or Fabuloso. When I say quick i mean QUICK. Spray and wipe down EVERY SURFACE. Next turn on a fan or exhaust fan for the bathroom. Don’t have one? You can even use a desk fan or stand alone fan in the doorway.
Remove all the towels and consider doing a towel clarification process on them at least once every 3 months. You will be surprised at what you find.

- Pine-Sol or Lysol in the toilet brush cleaner
- Car Freshii clip on the HVAC vent
- Fabric softener in the toilet tank
- Sprinkle powder laundry soap on countertop and clean
- Mop floor with same solution
